Fee Information & Methodology

RIPE NCC (Europe, Middle East, Central Asia)

The calculator on the main page simulates the RIPE NCC Model B (2026 proposal) for annual fees, using illustrative coefficients. This simulation is currently focused on the IPv4-only score, with IPv6 and ASN components excluded from the calculation.

For official information, please refer to the RIPE NCC Charging Scheme and related policy documents.

APNIC (Asia Pacific)

Annual fee is a function of address-space "bits" (IPv4/IPv6), plus ASN fees.

Address-space Annual Fee Model (Members)

APNIC computes two annual fees separately (IPv4 and IPv6), then invoices the larger one.

AnnualFee_v4 = BaseFee × (BitFactor)^(AddressBits_v4)
AnnualFee_v6 = BaseFee × (BitFactor)^(AddressBits_v6)
AnnualFee = max(AnnualFee_v4, AnnualFee_v6)

Where:

AddressBits = log2(Addresses) - Offset

Offsets: IPv4 offset = 8, IPv6 offset = 22.

ASN Fees

  • Allocation fee: No charge if ≤2 ASNs held; else AUD 500 per ASN (one-off).
  • Annual fee: No charge if ≤2 ASNs held; else AUD 100 per ASN (annual).

Exchange Rates

RBA shows 1 AUD = 0.6646 USD on 15 Dec 2025. APNIC invoices in AUD.

ARIN (North America)

Fixed annual fee by "service category" from aggregate holdings via a Registration Services Plan (RSP).

How Category is Chosen

  1. Compute aggregate holdings in each resource type: IPv4 (by CIDR size), IPv6 (by CIDR size), and ASN count.
  2. Find the category implied by each (IPv4 table, IPv6 table, ASN ranges).
  3. Billed category is the largest category among IPv4 vs IPv6 vs ASN.
  4. Pay the USD fee for that category.

Category Examples

  • 3X-Small: USD 262.50 (IPv4 /24 or smaller; IPv6 /40 or smaller; 1–3 ASNs)
  • 2X-Small: USD 525 (IPv4 > /24 to /22; IPv6 > /40 to /36; 4–15 ASNs)
  • ... up through 5X-Large: USD 268,800.

LACNIC (Latin America & Caribbean)

Stepwise category fees; billed by highest category (IPv4 vs IPv6).

Model

AnnualFee = max(FeeCategory_v4(IPv4 prefix/quantity), FeeCategory_v6(IPv6 prefix/quantity))

Fee Examples (ISP Category)

  • Nano: USD 600/year (e.g., up to 3×/24 IPv4 + /32 IPv6)
  • Micro: USD 1,000/year (e.g., up to /22 IPv4 + /32 IPv6)
  • Small (IPv6-only): USD 2,100/year
